Bhuna Gosht Instant Pot Version

Bhuna Gosht is a popular dish in South Asian cuisine, made with tender meat cooked in a rich and flavorful sauce. Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs Boneless Mutton pieces
  • 8 Cloves
  • 6 Cardamom pods
  • 3 sticks Cinnamon
  • 1.5 teaspoons Cumin seed
  • 1.5 teaspoons Black peppercorns
  • 4 tablespoons Garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons Crushed Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 Tomatoes crushed
  • 1 cup Onion fried
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • 4 Green chilies chopped
  • Cilantro garnish

Instructions
 

  • Put your instant pot on sauté mode add 2 tablespoons ghee or oil and fry
    8 cloves
    6 cardamom pods
    3 cinnamon sticks
    1.5 teaspoons cumin seed
    1.5 teaspoons black peppercorns
  • Fry till fragrant.
  • Don’t let it burn.
  • Stir well and add your mutton.
  • Cook for a few minutes and then add 2 tablespoons red chili powder ( you can adjust this to your preference)
    1 teaspoon turmeric
    1 tablespoon coriander powder
    1 teaspoon cumin powder
    1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Stir well.
  • Now add the frozen onions and stir again.
  • You can add a little water like 1/4 to 1/2 cup if you need to.
  • Now turn the sauté mode off and set to manual pressure high for 25 minutes.
  • Once it’s done do a quick release.
  • Take your yogurt and add a little gravy from the mutton to it and mix well.
  • Now add this to your mutton and put in your green chilies and then put it on sauté mode till the liquid dries up.
  • Now purée your tomatoes and add them to the meat and cook for 10 minutes or till the desired consistency is reached.
  • Your bhuna gosht is now ready.
  • Enjoy! You can garnish with fenugreek leaves and fresh chopped coriander.
