Thai Beef Salad

Thai Beef Salad is a delicious and healthy way to enjoy the flavors of Thai cuisine in the comfort of your own home. Lets get all the necessary ingredients listed below to start cooking this awesome dish.

Ingredients
  

For the beef marinade: 

  • 1.5 lbs of steak cut in 1-2 inch squares
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • Chili garlic oil to taste
  • 2 tsp garlic paste 
  • 2 tsp thinly sliced ginger
  • 1.5 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 2 tsp brown sugar

For the salad:

  • 1 finely chopped small head of lettuce 
  • 1 English seedless cucumber finely chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes chopped
  • 2 shallots finely chopped
  • 1 Avocado sliced
  • 1/4 cup of crushed roasted peanuts 

 For the dressing

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1 green chili chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl add all the marinade ingredients to your beef and set aside to marinate for at least an hour. 
  • In the mean time finely chop all the salad ingredients. Wash and either spin fry or pat dry
  • To make the dressing, heat all the ingredients in a saucepan and let it come to a rolling boil then lower the heat and simmer for a few minutes. Stir and set aside to cool
  • In a cast iron skillet add some butter and oil. About a teaspoon of each. When hot add the beef and cook to your desired doneness. 

To assemble: 

  • Place your chopped lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers in your salad bowl. Pour the cooled dressing on it and toss well. 
  • Place your beef on the salad and add your sliced avocado and garnish with chopped peanuts and enjoy!
