Mutton Masala Fry


I’m a huge fan of quick and easy recipes. Now, when the dish turns out so incredibly delicious that you make it for every dinner party you host, you just know that it’s a keeper. If you’re a fan of mutton, this one’s for you. Let me know your thoughts once you make this. I’d love to hear from you.

Mutton Masala Fry


  • 2 lbs boneless mutton (I use the shoulder of a baby goat)
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 3 tsp red chili powder
  • 3 tbsp garlic paste
  • 2 tsp ginger paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder 
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 3/4 cup yogurt
  • 2-3 large onions 
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • Marinate with all the above for an hour at least. 
  • Lemons 
  • Green chilies 


  • Marinate with all the above for an hour at least. 
    Add the marinated meat to the IP and sauté for a few minutes. Add 1/4 cup water. Pressure cook for 20 minutes and quick release. Transfer to a wok and cook till the liquid dries up. Fold in1 cup of chopped cilantro and squeeze the juice of 1 lemon on top.
    Serve with roti or naan.
